Floris van Vugt, BSc, MSc

Scientific collaborator

CV

I am currently a Ph.D. student in music cognition at IMMM Hannover, as
part of the Ebramus project.

Born in the Netherlands, I obtained a BSc at UC Utrecht, taking
courses in physics, mathematics and philosophy. During an exchange in
Pisa I studied mathematical logic. I did a Master in Cognitive Science
in Paris, where my focus was on cognitive psychology and pointing
responses. I also received the diploma of the ENS. Then I completed a
second Master’s degree in theoretical and computational linguistics at
UCLA.

I’m enthousiastic about playing the oboe as well as about the theatre
and cinema arts and travelling and meeting people. I also like to
sail.

I study the Japanese language and take an active interest in (Tibetan)
Buddhism.
