3D motion capture

Qualisys

The Qualisys system is a passive optical motion capture system, consisting of 7 cameras, a control unit (PC), a complete set of connection cables, etc. The system can be coupled to a sound device for synchronous recording of mocap and sound. Analog data can be recorded using the analog data acquisition device, which is integrated with the QTM software.

The cameras can be mounted to a construction at the wall, which allows for a flexible positioning. In addition, we have four large tripods. More facilities, such as motion capture suits, reflective markers of several sizes, marker clusters, etc. are available.

Additional custom-made hardware is present dedicated for measurement of violin bowing performance. This includes a set of small assembled accelerometers, and a bow force sensor and calibration device (see picture on the left), as well as a box with connectors and the necessary electronic amplification circuits. The accelerometers can be used independently for different purposes as well.
